Meet Nicolas Steffani, our new IES Abroad Nantes Center Director, effective July 1, 2020!
Most recently, Nicolas was the Associate Director at IES Abroad Nantes for a year and a half alongside former Center Director Thibaut de Berranger, who is continuing with IES Abroad Nantes as the Academic Coordinator & University Liaison.
Previously at the Université de Nantes, Nicolas was the European Project Manager specializing in Social Sciences and Humanities and coordinating activities of international researchers specialized in the History of Religions. He also worked on research project funding proposals for the European Research Council (ERC), the French National Research Agency (ANR), and regional funds. He earned his master’s degree in arts, literature, and languages at the Université de Nantes, having wrote his thesis on American contemporary literature. Nicolas has also spent parts of his education and professional career abroad in the United Kingdom and the United States.
As mentioned, we're also pleased to share that former IES Abroad Nantes Center Director Thibaut de Berranger is staying on at IES Abroad Nantes! Thibaut has a Doctor of Public Law (HDR) and is a professor in public law at the Université de Nantes, specializing in constitutional law, European Union law, and comparative law. He has also authored several books and articles in these fields. He will now share his expertise as IES Abroad Nantes' Academic Coordinator & University Liaison looking after course- and exam-related matters, both at IES Abroad and at the Université de Nantes, and liaise with the teachers at the Université.
Join us in congratulating Nicolas in his new role as Center Director. We're looking forward to continuing to work with both Nicolas and Thibaut.
