During the 2015-16 academic year, IES Abroad Customized Programs ran 85 programs, the most faculty-led programs run in one academic year to date.

For more than 50 years, IES Abroad has been a trusted partner for customized and faculty-led study abroad programs, from short-term programs in the summer to semester and academic-year experiences. IES Abroad Customized Programs allow colleges and universities to develop their own unique or faculty-led study abroad offerings, give faculty the opportunity to lead student groups overseas, and present students with flexible study abroad options that suit their academic plans.

Ann Talbot (pictured left), Director of Customized Programs, joined IES Abroad in May 2016, and is working to expand IES Abroad’s offerings through innovative programming and dedicated outreach.

“We’ve worked diligently to develop and strengthen our relationships with our institutional partners,” Ann said. “Our Customized Programs team is excited to have successfully delivered 85 programs in the 2015-16 academic year, and looking forward for what’s in store for the future.”

There are infinite possibilities for creating the perfect customized study abroad programs. IES Abroad created programs for more than 50 colleges and universities, including Miami University, Indiana University, Grinnell College, Northeastern, and Virginia Tech during the 2015-16 academic year.

From London to Sydney, Customized Programs has a breadth of academic partnerships worldwide, such as Freiburg (Albert Ludwigs Universitat Freiburg), Rabat (Universite Mohammed V), Barcelona (Institut Quimic de Sarria), and Santiago (Universidad de Chile).

Some IES Abroad Customized Programs follow pre-established models, while others are one-of-a-kind, reflecting an institution’s input and program design ideas. IES Abroad works with each partner to determine the best approach and the appropriate components. The resulting study abroad program is ultimately the institution’s, but with the benefit of the trusted expertise and experience of IES Abroad.
