Angie Shannon is the Assistant Vice President of Global Marketing and has been with IES Abroad since December 2026. She leads IES Abroad global marketing efforts—from digital marketing and website management to branding, design, and publications—to enhance brand positioning and drive student engagement.
She brings more than two decades of experience in marketing and communications, from corporate communications at United Airlines, to building marketing from the ground up for a travel data technology startup, to nearly 15 years with Travelzoo, a global media publisher of travel experiences, and nearly a decade at American mass media holding company Gannett Co, Inc, producing newscasts for local TV news stations in Minnesota, Michigan, and Florida.
Angie graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She studied abroad in Mexico, Portugal, and Spain.
