CU/AH 336 - The Heritage of Al Andalus

The primary objective of this course is for the students to acquire a complex understanding of the cultures of Al Andalus and their presence in modern Andalusia and Northern Morocco, focusing on art, architec-ture, ornamentation, and design. We will examine the intellectual and artistic achievements reached by the civili-zation of Al Andalus, and look at its legacy in various contemporary settings, including the management of Al Anda-lus as a cultural entity on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar.
