IES Abroad Awarded a Record $7.9 Million in Financial Aid!

We are proud to share a historic milestone for IES Abroad... we awarded $7.9 million in financial aid this past year! That's the largest amount in our organization’s history, for the academic year spanning Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026.

Our financial aid applications increased by 14.2% compared to last spring, reflecting the growing need for financial support to make study abroad a possibility. As more students seek study abroad opportunities, our commitment to access has never been more important.

At the heart of this milestone is our High-Impact Aid Commitment (HIAC), which is a transformative approach to financial aid designed to expand access to study abroad for students. By intentionally directing funds where they can make the greatest impact, HIAC allows more students to participate in an IES Abroad program than ever before. Our financial aid strategy prioritizes expanding reach while simplifying the application process for students. Through HIAC, we focus resources on students with financial need, helping remove financial barriers and minimize the cost of study abroad.

• Our High-Impact Aid Commitment is a funding model which increases accessibility to study abroad for students with financial need.
• Applying is easy. It takes ~10 minutes. Decisions in 5 business days.
• IES Abroad awards $7M+ annually; students with highest financial need may receive up to $7,000 for Spring semester programs.
