Spending Three Days in Spain

I recently returned from the most unreal three-day trip to Ibiza and Barcelona in Spain. It was the perfect mix of time spent relaxing at the beach and then exploring the eccentric city. I knew I had to visit Spain during my time abroad due to its proximity and raving reviews. 

We started in Ibiza and even though we landed pretty late in the day, the island instantly felt like a dream. The highlight of the trip was the sailboat excursion around San Antonio. Being out on the water surrounded by the beautiful blue and white city with mountains of greenery was incredible peaceful. The water was insanely blue and the sun hit the water just right to make it feel like a movie.

After we returned, we ventured to Rita’s Cantina for dinner and the menu was amazing. It had everything that you could possibly want after some time at the beach. There was all-day breakfast, German food, French dishes and even Indonesian options (which I went with). It felt random at first but having a mix of different dishes worked out very well to accommodate to everyone's preferences. We then took our time around the island, soaking it all in. There were cafes selling churros and chocolate everywhere, so obviously we had to make a quick stop. It was the perfect post-dinner sweet treat. 

We ended the night with a walk around Caló des Moro for sunset and it was honestly one of the prettiest sunsets I have ever seen, by far. The sky was exploding with color and everyone around us went quiet, watching the sun sink into the ocean. 

The next day, we headed to Barcelona and had a complete shift in landscape. The city was bustling and we could not wait to explore it. Our first stop was TK Tacos. They sell €1 tacos that were spectacular. The tacos were incredibly flavorful and each one had their own little twist on it. This is one of those hidden gems that you have to hit on your trip to Barcelona.

Then, we decided to wander around the city and saw Casa Batlló from the outside and even the exterior is incredible. We did not purchase tickets to head inside but the outside is still worth a look. 

That night, we did a sangria and cocktail masterclass at BPM Bar, which was honestly one of the most fun things we did. We learned how to make different cocktails, including a caipirinha, which is a Brazilian cocktail. It was the perfect refreshing drink for the warm weather we were hit with later in the day. This class was very interactive and a little chaotic but overall, a great experience.

For dinner, we went to Macchina, where you can build your own pasta for about €10. It was such a great deal and there are many options to mix and match with your favorite flavors. 

Our last day was absolutely packed. We hit all of the major tourist attractions such as Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Arc de Triomf, Plaça de Catalunya, and also the “The World Comes To Life With Each Kiss” mural. We finished off our day around Mercat de la Boqueria. This was a great way to end the day because we got to try a bunch of delicious Spanish foods from local vendors.

It was incredibly warm, in comparison to London, so we ended up walking around Playa de Barceloneta. It was extremely gorgeous and near the city, which was very convenient for our beachside walk. 

For dinner, we went to Organic Green. The steak Chimichurri was my meal of choice, and something I extremely enjoyed and do recommend. 

We ended the trip at Razzmatazz, a great spot if you are looking to dance and hear some great music. It was the perfect place to wrap everything up.
