How to Get from Airport to downtown Madrid

Options from Adolfo Suarez Madrid airport to downtown:

Via Taxi: After collecting your luggage, follow the signs to the taxi queue. The taxi ride will cost you €30-35 aprox. There is no extra charge for luggage. All taxis will accept credit cards; make sure that you tell them upon entering the taxi if you will be paying with credit card. It is recommended to bring some cash (€100) in case the card reader does not work.

Via Metro: Is located within the airport. Take the pink line 8 all the way to Nuevos Ministerios, where it ends, and then switch to the metro line that will take you to your hotel. Please check the Metro de Madrid. A metro ticket is around €5 including the airport supplement; be aware that most metro stops do not have elevators or escalators.

Via Bus: Look or ask for the Airport Express 24 hours bus service. It stops outside all the airport terminals and costs €5 aprox.

The best option for people visiting is to get the “Tourist Travel Pass” from 6€ at any transportation counter. You can then charge tickets at any transportation terminal or with your phone with the application "Tarjeta Transporte". Taxis and Ubers are also easy to find and order. RadioTaxi is one major taxi company that you can reserve online.
