Alumni Event | Holiday Traditions and History in Barcelona

Learn about Catalan Christmas Season traditions beginning with Santa Lucia Day and continuing through Three Kings Day in the new year. IES Barcelona Center Director, Dr. Cesar Alegre and Dean of Faculty and Anthropologist, Dr. Alex Walker, talked about the origins of these beloved and sometimes quirky traditions that are unique to the region. You'll learn the recipes for and origin of Caldo de Nadal, the traditional Christmas Eve meal which provides a three-day family feast culminating in the creation of the region’s famous canalons (stuffed cannelloni) for Boxing Day!
