Join us during Black History and Women’s History Month to meet Dr. Shirley Marks, IES Vienna 1967-68. A Merrill Scholar and board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Marks is nationally known for her work on reducing the stigma around mental illness and advocating for mental health equity. Coming out of retirement in 2018 Dr. Marks is currently serving as the Regional Director for Behavioral Health Services at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Correctional Managed Care.
Advancement Associate Director Dawn DeBoard will interview Shirley about her journey from Spelman to Vienna, and then to Harvard, as well as her contributions to the mental health community. Read her full biography here. This can’t miss conversation will be recorded.
