As the Assistant Vice President of Global Marketing at IES Abroad, Anna Egan oversees all IES Global Marketing efforts—from digital marketing and website management to branding, design, and publications.
Anna’s IES Abroad journey began as a study abroad student in Granada, Spain where she interned in marketing for a local magazine. During a programmatic field trip to Morocco, she applied to a master’s program in International Education Management, a career decision fueled by the life-changing experience she was living. Through her graduate studies, she paved a path to the IES Abroad Headquarters in Chicago where she joined the marketing team and nurtured her prowess and passion over the last twelve years, growing from an intern to a manager to an AVP.
In her decade+ at IES Abroad, Anna’s strategic marketing approach and leadership has helped propel IES Abroad brand awareness, enrollments, and student success. Whether managing a website rebuild, establishing an award-nominated SEO strategy, overhauling advertising efforts resulting in triple digit KPI growth, or serving as a marketing expert in an org-wide system rebuild, Anna’s work consistently centers the user and their experience, exemplifying how people-first marketing can be both ethical and impactful. Beyond her passion and people skills, Anna is known for being particularly skilled at developing team talent, and recognized for her strategic and analytic mind, all of which has driven efficiency and impact.
Today, you’ll find Anna leaning into her skills in strategy and team management—possibly with a baby on her hip, as a mother of two. She leads a highly-skilled creative team of 23 with a mission-focused marketing approach, an eye for efficiency, and a healthy dose of play.
