About the Program

Length: Summer - four weeks

We invite you to consider our IES Abroad Cape Town Center as a site for Engineering cohorts. Courses and co-curricular activities are meant to maximize the location while expanding students’ perspectives more broadly to apply their Engineering experience in a globalized society. This program offers students an overview of Engineering in Cape Town, and can be customized to reflect discipline focus such as Chemical, Mechanical, and Electric. The program will connect students with local experts and organizations working on the built environment to provide them with firsthand experience and knowledge about the realities of planning and implementing engineering projects, with an eye for how Cape Town’s social and economic realities impact this work.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee the availability of all housing, excursions, cultural events, guest lecturers or tours.

Academics

Academic Program includes:

  • One Faculty Director course (content TBD by the School, not transcripted through IES Abroad Registrar)
