U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on all IES Abroad-sponsored events.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• Virtual and on-site orientations, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health and safety.

City Tour:

• This guided walking tour will take you to all the major sites in Rabat (Oudaya, City Center, Royal Palace, Chellah Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, Royal Palace).

Meals:

• Enjoy two delicious meals (Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner) at Rabat's most-loved restaurants to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Transfer:

• Organized airport transfer available via coach bus service.

Transportation Passes:

• Local transportation passes for the duration of the program.

Student Housing:

• Shared hotel rooms have 24-hour reception, weekly cleaning service, breakfast, and internet. Typically a 5-minute walk to the IES Abroad Center.

Faculty Housing:

• Single hotel rooms have 24-hour reception, weekly cleaning service, breakfast, and internet. Typically a 5-minute walk to the IES Abroad Center.

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes three integrated site visits that bring together academic focus with tourist
  interests. Examples include: ESCA Ecole de Management visit, AMAPPE (Association for the Promotion of Small Businesses), Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy, IIHEM Business School visit to mix with Moroccan Business Majors, the Hassan Tower, Central Market, Royal Institute for Culture, Ed-Trust visit to discuss Tax Regulations System, Université Mohammed V, etc.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one day trip out of the city that highlights the context of the immediate region. Examples include: Casablanca (includes meeting with the Casablanca Chamber of Commerce and RECTIM Réseau des Centres Techniques Industriels Marocains), Fez, Tangier or Volubilis and Meknes.

Cultural Events:

• The IES Abroad Center will arrange three cultural events for the School’s students and faculty member during the program. Examples include: a calligraphy session, mock Moroccan wedding, Henna party, cooking class, Hammam turkish bath, etc.
