U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on IES Abroad-sponsored events.

Enhanced Health & Safety:

• Additional predeparture orientations for the cohort prior to arrival on-site. Student Success
  Coordinator on-site and available to the group. Additional reflection time built into coursework and pre-/post-excursions.

Targeted Academic Student Support:

• In addition to an assigned staff member who can address student issues, academic staff at the London Center will develop opportunities for specialized tutoring and student success skills building, similar to those that exist on U.S. university campuses.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• On-site orientation, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health and safety.

Walking City Tour:

• Program includes a walking tour of all major sites in Central London.

Meals:

• Enjoy two delicious meals (Welcome Lunch and Farewell Dinner) at London's most-loved restaurants to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Transfer Support:

• Organized airport transfer available via taxi.

Transportation Passes:

• Local transportation passes will be provided for the period of the program.

Student Housing:

• Students will be housed in double rooms at a modern residence hall or in shared apartments. No meals are included, but kitchen facilities are available. Linens, weekly cleaning, and Internet are included.

Faculty Housing:

• Faculty Directors are typically housed in self-catering studio apartments, each with a fully-equipped kitchen and Wi-Fi.

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes six integrated site visits that bring together academic focus of Faculty Director courses with tourist interests. Examples include: Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, British Museum, Brick Lane Neighborhood Tour, etc. 

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one day trip out of the city that highlight the context of the immediate region.
  Includes roundtrip transportation and local site visits. Examples include: Oxford and Dover.

Field Trips Outside of City (3 days, 2 nights):

• Program includes one, built-in, customizable cohort excursion that may be linked thematically to the Faculty Director’s course. Includes round-trip transportation, accommodations, and local site visits. Examples include: Edinburgh, Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge & Bath, etc.

Cultural Events:

• Program includes two cultural events for the School’s students and Faculty Director during the
  program such as a cooking class, theater performance, or sporting event.

DiscoverIES Activities:

• IES Abroad will provide cultural activities around London on a first-come, first served basis.

Community Engagement Events:

• IES Abroad will provide community activities with all IES Abroad students to build engagement across programs on a first-come, first-served basis.
