U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on all IES Abroad-sponsored events.

Enhanced Health & Safety:

• Additional predeparture orientations for the cohort prior to arrival on-site. Additional reflection time built into coursework and pre-/post-excursions.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• Virtual and on-site orientations, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health and safety.

Walking City Tour:

• Program includes a guided city walking tour.

Meals:

• Welcome and farewell dinners to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Greeting:

• Organized train station and airport greeting and transfer available via bus service.

Student Housing:

• Students will be housed in shared hotel accommodations. Students will be in double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Wi-Fi access is included with these accommodations.

Faculty Housing:

• Faculty will be housed in single hotel accommodations. Wi-Fi internet access is included with these accommodations.

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes three integrated site visits that bring together academic focus with tourist
  interests. Examples include: Atelier LUMA, Visit to a Biology Research Lab, Parc des Ateliers,
  Fondation LUMA, Roman Arena, Musée de l'Arles Antique, Museon Arlaten, Roman monuments,
  Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles, and walking tours with a focus on the academic content of the program.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes three day trips out of the city that highlight the context of the immediate region. Examples include: the Camargue, the Alpilles, the Crau, Pont de Gau, Marseille, Montpellier, and Tour du Valat.

Cultural Events:

• Program includes two cultural events for the University’s students during the program such as
  cooking classes, painting or photography workshops, snorkling, theatre performances, wine and cheese tastings, concerts, and film screenings.
