Martín Habiague is a social entrepreneur and founder of Mesclad ís, a Barcelona-based non-profit that fosters social inclusion through food, culture, and education. Since launching Mescladís in 2005, he has championed migrant integration by creating job training programs and community spaces that bring together people of diverse backgrounds. His work reflects a deep commitment to solidarity, social justice, and the power of shared experience. A sociologist by training, Martín has also worked in international consulting across Brussels, Buenos Aires, and London, bringing a global perspective to his local impact.

“Study abroad matters to me as it fosters cultural exchange, understanding, and empathy among individuals from diverse backgrounds. Over nearly 20 years collaborating with IES Abroad at Mescladís, I have witnessed how immersive experiences (mainly in Barcelona, but also in Salamanca) profoundly impact students. Engaging with themes of migration and human rights enriches their perspectives and instills a sense of global responsibility.”
