U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on all IES Abroad-sponsored events.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• On-site orientation (including overview of the Center and the city), comprehensive health and
  safety information, and welcome meal at N Seoul Tower, including observatory ticket. Students
  will participate in both virtual and on-site orientations to ensure a smooth transition into their
  experience in Seoul. The virtual predeparture orientation will cover essential topics such as academic expectations, cultural adjustment, health and safety protocols, and practical travel tips. Upon arrival, the on-site orientation will include a detailed introduction to the IES Seoul Center, a guided tour of the city, and comprehensive health and safety briefings to help students confidently navigate their new environment.

City Tour:

• Program includes a walking tour of the neighborhood where accommodation is located.

Meals:

• Welcome and farewell dinners to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Transfer:

• Organized airport greeting and transfer available via bus service.

Transportation Passes:

• Local transportation passes will be provided for the period of the program for all IES Abroad-arranged activities.

Student Housing:

• Students will be housed in shared apartments. Each apartment will have a shared bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry facilities (per room or shared by floor). Breakfast and cleaning are not
  included. 

Faculty Housing:

• Program Leaders are typically housed in a single apartment with a private bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry facilities (per room or shared by floor). Breakfast and cleaning are not included. 

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes three integrated site visits that bring together academic focus with tourist
  interests. Examples include: Traditional Palaces, Bukchon Hanok Village, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Seoul City Hall, Insadong Traditional Market, and Han River Cruise.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one day trip out of the city that highlights the context of the immediate region. Includes round trip transportation and local site visits. Examples include: Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Korean Folk Village, Demilitarized Zone, Incheon Old Town, and Free Economic Zone.

Field Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes three integrated esports excursions that combine academic insights with industry exposure and live gaming experiences. Examples include: Visiting Major Game Company’s Office, Visiting Famous Esports Stadium, Watching Live Esports Match, and special Fan Meet with Ex or Current Gen.G Player.

Cultural Events:

• Program includes three cultural events for the students during the program such as Traditional
  Korean Music and Instruments, Korean Cooking & Calligraphy Workshops, Taekwondo Basics, and K-pop Dance and Music.
