U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on all IES Abroad-sponsored events.

Enhanced Health & Safety:

• Additional predeparture orientations for the cohort prior to arrival on-site. Student Success
  Coordinator on-site and available to the group. Additional reflection time built into coursework and pre-/post-excursions.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• Virtual and on-site orientations, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health and safety.

City Tour:

• This guided tour will take students to all the major sites in Barcelona, including the Gothic Quarter.

Meals:

• Enjoy two delicious meals (Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner) at Barcelona's most-loved restaurants to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Transfer:

• Organized airport transfer available via taxi coach bus service.

Transportation Passes:

• Local transportation passes can be arranged on a customized schedule.

Student Housing:

• Students will be in double rooms in a residence hall, with typically 10 to 11 students sharing a
  common kitchen. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, flat-screen television, closet, safe, air conditioning and heating, towels and sheets, and cable internet connection. 

Program Leader (Faculty/Staff) Housing:

• Program leaders are typically housed in self-catering studio apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen and Wi-Fi.

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes three integrated site visits that bring together academic focus with student interests. Examples include: Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Picasso Museum, Barcelona Cathedral, and/or a Gràcia Neighborhood tour and lecture. 

Business Visits:

• Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate the School’s requests for specific employer site visits, two included, provided IES Abroad has the requisite contacts. IES Abroad does not have any control over the employers and any business visit will be subject to the requested employer’s agreement. Examples include: Camp Nou & FC Barcelona and the Olympic Village and Stadium. The Camp Nou & FC Barcelona visit includes a guest lecture with the Communications department and standard guided tour, or tour and guest lecture by IES Abroad Sports & Society or Business of Sports course faculty. The Olympic Village and Stadium visit includes a standard guided tour or tour and guest lecture by IES Abroad faculty.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one day trip out of the city that highlights the context of the immediate region. Examples include: Tarragona and Girona. The Tarragona trip includes a guided tour, round-trip transportation, one group meal. The Girona trip includes a guided tour, round trip transportation, one group meal and entrance to the Arabic baths and the Girona Cathedral.

Field Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one overnight (3 days/2 nights) field trip to Madrid; a guided tour, round-trip transportation, hotel accommodation for the School's students and Program Leader, local metro passes, Prado (includes guided tour), Reina Sofia Museum and Palacio Real entrance fees, Bernabeu or Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium visit and guest lecture, and two group meals. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate the School’s requests for tickets to a local soccer match (pending availability).

Cultural Events:

• IES Abroad will arrange three cultural events during the program. Includes a cooking class, flamenco dancing experience, and tickets to either a soccer match or basketball game.
