The Sun Will Set the Same

Vibrant oranges spread across the horizon and puffy clouds scatter the sky, the dark silhouette of the Andes mountains is a stark contrast to the colors.

Here's a little poem I wrote about my time at Vina del Mar. It was inspired by the hours I spent on the beach each night, watching the sunset with hundreds of other people, just like I do in the park with my family when I'm at home.

The Sun Will Set the Same

Fifty thousand miles from home

I thought for sure I'd feel alone.

But in mountain, field, or stream

the sun will always set the same.

See the swirling sky set sail

Death of day drawing dreamy detail.

People father to watch the tranquil tapestry

of light, dark, and color...

of sky touching sea.

So while fifty thousand miles seems

Like a whole wide world away,

Know no matter where you are

the sun will set the same.
