Up to $9,000 tuition discount, plus $1,000 cultural stipend; awarded to 1 student each year

This scholarship is for students spending the academic year abroad in one location.

This scholarship was established by Phyllis Haberman, Vienna ’68-‘69, who earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Simmons College, and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University Business School. She has 20+ years of experience as an investment professional, executing private equity transactions across all investment formats. Currently, she is Senior Managing Director at Egret Capital Partners and an investor with Golden Seeds LLC, a network of angel investors dedicated to providing capital to early stage companies led by women.

Eligibility: 

  • Applicants must be accepted to, attend and complete any standard IES Abroad program for the 2021-22 Academic Year (beginning Fall 2021 and continuing in Spring 2022); scholarship recipient must attend the same program for both semesters
  • Applicants must have documented financial need
  • Preference is given to students who study in a country where English is not one of the official languages

Note: Entire tuition portion of scholarship will be credited to fall term invoice. Twenty percent discount for consecutive term enrollment will apply to spring term invoice.
