IES Abroad is the leading study abroad provider on Abroad101 based on the number of program reviews we’ve received.

Abroad101 was the first website to collect study abroad reviews and ratings from study abroad alumni. Its recent Providers Derby for Winter 2016 showed IES Abroad soaring to the top when it comes to student reviews. With more than 1,700 reviews and an overall rating of 4.6/5, it’s easy to see our students have loved sharing about their experiences on our programs. Here are a few of our favorites:

“I chose IES Abroad Berlin because I wanted to practice my German and learn more about German architecture. I learned so much through hands-on activities, field trips, and the wonderful professors who seemed to love what they taught.” Read more

-Nikita C., Berlin Summer – Metropolitan Studies & Architecture | University of Pittsburgh

“In certain aspects I learned more in one semester abroad than I did in the other seven at my home learning university. Thanks to their culture, I came home with a new appreciation for the life I am so privileged to live and even desire to change my career path to a more community-oriented profession. I can't emphasize how many resources IES [Abroad] provided us with, how many friendships were formed, and how incredibly happy the people of South Africa are. Worthwhile? I can't imagine where I'd be without it!” Read more

-Jordan C., Cape Town – University of Cape Town | University of Illinois - Chicago

“Without a doubt this experience was worthwhile and life changing. Through IES Abroad, I was able to gain sense of perspective about the world. I learned a lot about myself and independence. IES [Abroad] facilitated an environment in which their students could thrive and find success.” Read more

-Ruby L., London – Study London | Loyola University at Chicago

Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay said, “By encouraging its students to tell their stories and recall accounts of their growth and successes abroad, IES Abroad has demonstrated a commitment to transparency and openness. IES Abroad has encouraged its students to use the Abroad101 platform to become individual advocates for the incredible maturity and meaningful experiences that come from an educational program overseas."
