University of Rochester
Dublin Direct Enrollment - Trinity College Dublin

I am a student studying history, political science, and international relations at the University of Rochester, interested in pursuing a career in law and politics. I love to travel, read, and go on new adventures, the next of which is my semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland studying at Trinity College. I like to express my thoughts and opinions through photography and blogging, and have organized my class structure such that I am always learning new things about the world around me. I think its important to look at our past to formulate positive change for the future, and I hope that with experience in politics and history I can hope to contribute in a positive way to the world around me, wherever my adventures may take me.

As my final days wind down in Dublin, I've been taking time to appreciate all of the places I have come to know and love this semester. This has included several long runs to the beach and walking around downtown taking in the sights of the city for my last few days.

After a long week of midterm papers interspersed with St. Patrick's Day in Dublin (which was absolutely nuts), I have finally had time to sit back and reflect on my final trip of reading week: Paris.

February 26, 2015

This week is reading week at Trinity College, so my friends and I set out to explore Europe on our time off. We have so far travelled to Vienna, Budapest, and Prague, and tomorrow I leave for Paris for the rest of the weekend. All three cities were amazing, but Prague was by far my favorite.

In honor of Valentine's Day I wanted to make a post about something that I am loving about study abroad. I think what I'm loving the most so far is getting to take trips outside of Dublin (although I do love Dublin as well).

This weekend we decided to take a journey just outside the city to Bray. A seaside town about a 40 minute ride on the DART outside of Dublin, Bray is home to the childhood residence of the author James Joyce.

On a brisk January day my roommates and I set out from our flat to Pearse Station, the DART station next to Trinity in the city center. The DART, is a train that runs outside the city to several seaside towns, including our destination for the day, Howth.

I've been in Dublin for a little over a week, and I have the opportunity to see a variety of places around the city. The campus at Trinity College Dublin where I am studying is absolutely beautiful, and houses some of the finest architecture in Dublin.
