IES Abroad - University of Auckland Study Abroad Scholarships

The University of Auckland Study Abroad Scholarship has been established to provide support for IES Abroad students to experience one semester or one year at the University of Auckland as a non-degree Study Abroad student.  Up to four awards of up to NZ$7,000 have been allocated for IES Abroad students for fall or spring semesters.

Additional Information:

  • All scholarship funds will be awarded in the form of a discount that will appear on the IES Abroad program invoice.  The final amount of the discount will be based on the currency exchange rate at the time of invoicing.
  • Scholarships are offered for one semester only.  Multi-term students must reapply for scholarship, if available, in second term.
  • If selected for a scholarship, it is the recipient’s responsibility to determine how this award may affect an existing financial aid package.
  • Decisions will be sent via email approximately one week after the deadline.

Up to NZ$7,000
Eligibility: 
 
  • Be accepted to and attend the IES Abroad Auckland/University of Auckland semester program (fall or spring).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
  • Submit a statement of no more than 500 words describing your reasons for studying at the University of Auckland and how this study abroad experience fits into your academic and career goals (email to [email protected]).
  • Submit one faculty letter of support (email to [email protected]).
  • Return Requirement: If awarded one of these scholarships, at the conclusion of the IES Abroad program you agree to submit a 1-page statement about your experience abroad, including how it has affected you personally, professionally, and academically and how this scholarship supported your endeavors.  Once submitted, this statement becomes property of IES Abroad and excerpts may be used in any/all IES Abroad electronic and printed publications. Additional details and instructions will be emailed to you after your program ends.
