$5 Million in Financial Aid
We firmly believe that financial limitations should not prevent a qualified student from participating in an IES Abroad Program. This is why we commit $5 million to our financial aid programs.
Our mission is simple: to provide you with the highest quality academic and cultural experience abroad possible.
Our courses will expand your understanding of the marketplace for luxury brands, and the marketing of products around the world. Using the many examples that Paris has to offer, these courses will give you an educational experience that you couldn’t get on your home campus.
Our intensive beginning language course immerses you in French language and culture learning. The course is taught by native French speakers.
Choose two out of three of the following courses:
Introduction to Global Marketing (3 credits)
Introduction to Luxury Brand Management (3 credits)
French Language in Context: Novice Abroad (4 credits)
Our courses also incorporate course-related excursions that will further expose you to Paris, its culture, and the city’s place as a major center of international business.
This is a list of planned course offerings. After you are accepted, you will see a list of final course offerings in your MyIESabroad account.
Possible one-day field trips include Les Invalides, the Marais, Motmartre. the Latin quarter, Versailles, Fontainebleau.
To supplement coursework, the IES Abroad Paris Summer Beginning Language & Marketing Program includes course-related excursions to many sites of historic significance in Paris. Destinations may include:
The Latin Quarter
Part of making you feel at home in Paris is doing our best to help you feel safe and cared for. Whether it is an orientation program that makes you feel prepared, your housing that is well-located and comfortable, or field trips that take you to places off the beaten path—we’re all about our student services.
Upon arrival in Paris, you will participate in a one-day orientation that includes:
A welcome lunch
A boat tour on the Seine
Introductory sessions on housing, transportation, health and safety, and daily life in Paris
We want to make sure that your greatest challenge is deciding which landmarks to see first or discovering the best café—not finding a place to live where you feel comfortable. We do our best to locate housing that is reflective of how the local students are living. Our goal is that when you leave Paris, it will feel like home.
Homestays – You stay in a French home in the city of Paris or its surrounding banlieues (suburbs). You eat breakfast daily and three evening meals per week with your host(s). Other meals are available at university cafeterias and inexpensive restaurants. You have the option to request a typical homestay placement or a placement in a chambre de bonne.
Apartments – A limited number of apartments are available for an additional fee. Apartments include kitchen facilities and shared bathrooms. An IES Abroad Resident Assistant lives on-site. Meals are not included.
