2. Learn About our Submission Categories

Your day is more extraordinary than you realize- show us what it looks like! Submit to this category to give a brief, but vibrant glimpse into your day-to-day life abroad.
- Creative Short (10 minute maximum)
Creative Shorts can be stories of personal development and reflection, music videos, explorations of social issues and events in your host country, reenactments, and more.
- Documentary (No time limit)
We want to learn from you! What did study abroad teach you about the world? Submit your film to this category if your film provides factual information on a topic or theme, or was created as part of an IES Abroad film course.
3. Confirm Your Eligibility
We invite alumni since January 2016 to submit up to 3 short films to our 2018 Study Abroad Film Festival.
4. Submit Your Film
Think of your unique study abroad story and then get to work on telling that story through film! The deadline to submit to the 2018 Study Abroad Film Festival is August 1, 2018. All films in a foreign language require English subtitles to participate in the Festival, and each participant can submit up to three films.
5. Get Ready to Compete!
Out of a pool of semi-finalists, our jury will select the top three student films for public voting on the basis of capturing the spirit of study abroad, production quality, entertainment, and originality.
These three finalists will each be awarded $500 for their films, and the grand prize winner, decided by a public vote, will receive an additional $1,000!
