Study Abroad Film Festival Event

Save the Date for our Second Annual IES Abroad Film Festival Event!

A Night Celebrating our Student Filmmakers in Benefit of IES Abroad Scholarships

November 7, 2018 at the Museum of Contemporary Art - Chicago

Hosted by Kate Flannery from The Office

Founded in 2014, our Study Abroad Film Festival was the first student-focused study abroad film festival in the industry, and up until last year, our Festival was solely an online opportunity for students to share their amazing stories from study abroad—both what the experience meant to them, and how it redefined their world.

With the help of a celebrity host, thoughtful and creative student film-makers, and a beautiful art museum to spend the evening in, our first live Film Festival event on November 1, 2017 was an amazing success garnering over 100 million media impressions.

We are thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting our 2nd annual Film Festival event on November 7, 2018 — so mark your calendars now!

Once again we're ecstatic to share that Kate Flannery, best known for her 9 seasons as Meredith on NBC's hit show, The Office, as our host for the evening, and the Chicago's renowned Museum of Contemporary Art, as the venue. Our 5th annual IES Abroad Study Abroad Film Festival is expected to be an extraordinary night of study abroad film screenings, complimented by a meet-and-greet with student filmmakers, IES Abroad alumni, and our award-winning jurors all in benefit of IES Abroad scholarships.

Check back soon for information regarding ticket purchases!

The three Finalists films are selected based on jury rankings. Read more about our jury, made up of highly-esteemed IES Abroad alumni and staff in the film industry.

The Finalist films are made public for voting midway through fall, where you'll have the opportunity to vote for who you think should take home the grand prize at our live event!

The three student Finalists will be invited to attend the Film Festival event at the Museum of Contemporary Art - Chicago where we will screen each of their films. All three Finalists will partake in a Q&A session, and the Grand Prize Winner (decided by the public vote) will be announced at the end of the evening.

We hope you join us on November 7th, 2018 to celebrate and honor our talented student film-makers! RSVP on Facebook here.
