Grace Worwa in Buenos Aires

I’m studying for a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I hope to improve my Spanish language skills and learn more about the country’s women’s rights movement. I’m from the U.S. state of Minnesota, where I also attend college and study Spanish, Political Science, and English. I’m on a pre-law track and hope to pursue a career in immigration law.

Favorite thing about going abroad?
I aim to become fluent in Spanish through study abroad, and I chose IES Buenos Aires because it will integrate me into a Spanish-speaking culture through a homestay, classes at a local university, and volunteer/internship experiences in the community. I also wanted to travel to Buenos Aires in particular because I'm interested in women's rights work, and Argentina has recently stood out as a leader in that field. Through IES's volunteer program, I hope to work with a women's organization on the ground.
