Jeanne Torp in Paris

My name is Jeanne Torp. I'm a junior at the University of Mississippi majoring in International Studies and French and minoring in Environmental Studies! I will be studying abroad in Paris, France for the Spring 2020 semester, working to better my language skills and immerse myself in the French culture. After graduating, I hope to enter into the urban design or architecture fields, which I'm especially excited to be pursuing as new green and sustainable methods are being introduced to the field every day. Some of my hobbies include traveling, writing, photo- and video-taking, music, and reading.

Favorite thing about going abroad?
As a French major participating in the French Studies program in Paris, I am most excited for the ability to improve my language skills. This will be the most immersed I will have ever been in a culture, as I will have the chance to live with a host family and take all of my courses in French. Therefore, I am excited to see what these factors do to my language acquisition, but I am also very excited to see how they will help me adopt the French culture into my own life. Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world, so I am incredibly excited to be able to call it home for a few months and hopefully learn more about the Parisian life and culture.
