Tara Johnson is the Academic Records Manager for Education Abroad in Global Programs at Penn State.
Previously, she worked at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Community and Leadership Development, where she also earned her Master’s Degree. Tara studied Community, Environment and Development in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State with a focus in International Development.
Tara has experienced many capacities of education abroad; she is a study abroad alum, she was a program leader for students in Prague, she has designed curriculum and programming for incoming international students, and worked in international service learning and research abroad. This has allowed her to develop a holistic view of the field and create the foundation of her career.

Where have you studied or lived abroad?
Costa Rica, Brazil, and the Czech Republic.
What is your favorite place you've traveled and why?
Croatia - I traveled completely on my own and it was a very enlightening and independent experience for me.
What is the one item you can't travel without?
My journal - but realistically my passport and phone.
