Aja Ringenbach is Manager, Internship Program Advising and has been with IES Abroad for four years. During this time, she has advised for internship programs in London, Milan, Rome, Barcelona and Santiago. She focuses on learning and establishing advising best practices for the rest of the Internship Programming team, emphasizing the importance of managing expectations during the pre-departure phase. She also serves as the visa specialist for internship programs, and works with other advisors to create useful tools and policies for students to navigate the legal process of doing internships abroad.
Aja majored in International Studies and Spanish at Northwestern University, and also received a Master's degree in Management Studies from the Kellogg School of Management. She studied abroad in Barcelona and Buenos Aires while in college and is a proud IES Buenos Aires alumna!

Barcelona (a faculty-led program through Northwestern) and Buenos Aires (an IES Abroad program!)
What is your favorite place you've traveled and why?
Florence, Italy. It is so quintessentially Italian, and I just remember being absolutely enchanted about everything I experienced there!
What is the one item you can't travel without?
Eye mask (I need complete darkness to sleep wherever I am!).
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Yoga, cooking, painting and (recently) pottery.
Best piece of advice you've ever received?
Whatever is good for your soul, do that.
Taken while mountain biking in Patagonia. During my semester with IES Buenos Aires, I took a trip to Bariloche, Argentina with some friends from the program and saw some of the most stunning landscapes I could ever imagine!
