The aim of the course is to develop advanced students' speaking and writing skills in Spanish specifically their lexicon and to expose them to specific languages. Activities include grammar exercises, various writing assignments and aural comprehension.
Prerequisites:
Intermediate-level Spanish
Method of presentation:
1. Presentation of Spanish grammar: rules and structures.
2. Practical, written excercises to complement the theoretical explanations.
3. Weekly compositions. These are corrected, then returned to the student to indicate which aspects need more attention, This system allows the professor and students to track their progress and to verify the assimilation of the theoretical explanations.
4. Grammar and vocabulary excercises and games. Students improve their vocabulary in a relaxed atmosphere.
5. Phonetic excercises to improve students’ pronounciation.
Required work and form of assessment:
Final grade based on homework assignments (30%), mid-term exam (30%), final exam (40%). Class participation and attendance will also be taken into consideration.

3. Morfology of verbs.
4. The use of “ser” and “estar”.
5. The indicative mood: Present, Past, Future, and Conditional tenses.
6. The subjunctive mood.
7. The nonpersonal form: Imperative.
8. Verbal periphrases: basic structure.
9. The prepositions.
10. General review.
