Description: 

A communicative approach to learning advanced grammar and to enhance vocabulary. This course will also focus on Indian media sources (newspapers, periodicals, television) and Indian social norms.

Grammar: Review of tenses, moods, and basic compound verbs; introduction to perfect and imperfect particles
Reading: Story from Panchtantra: Monkey and a Crocodile
Writing: Question-answers and using new vocabulary

Week 3-4
Grammar: Quick review of grammar; introducing advanced compound verbs
Reading: Abridged form of story “Idgah” by Premchand
Conversation: Indian society and culture

Week 5-6
Grammar: Introduction to expressions of “negation”; review of relative and correlative pronounds
Reading: A story from Panchtantra: A Donkey without brains.
Writing: Compose your own story using new vocabulary and expressions

Week 7
Grammar: Review of indefinite pronouns
Reading: A short poem about a raindrop Writing: Your time in India Conversation: Hindi movies
