IES Abroad recently received a Gold, two Silver, and a Bronze award in the 25th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, the oldest and largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. IES Abroad, as part of its ongoing Diversity Initiative, recently announced a new partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), the national educational association representing 450 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic student success in higher education. Together, HACU schools educate two-thirds of Hispanic college students today.
As part of its efforts to make studying abroad as affordable and accessible as possible for United States college and university students, IES Abroad has announced an additional $150,000 in financial aid funding for the 2010-2011 academic year.
IES Abroad Dublin Center Director, Ashley Taggart, was recently awarded a top prize for Radio Drama in the 2009 P.J. O'Connor Awards, Ireland’s leading radio awards.
The play, Happy Hour, was adapted from his screenplay that was originally screened at the Cork and Chicago Irish Film Festivals. Taggart was one of three winners, and in addition to a cash prize, his play was produced and broadcast on Irish radio.
In support of our goal to help as many students as possible study abroad, IES Abroad offered 862 awards to our Spring 2010 students, for a total of $1,202,650.
This brings the total amount of scholarship and aid money awarded during the 2009-10 academic year to $2,040,031—more than any other U.S.-based third party study abroad provider.
