Description: 

The course consists of the preparation of a play to be produced at the end of the semester before other program participants and Spanish students residing at the Colegio Mayor San Agustín. The play selected will be by a twentieth century Spanish writer; final selection will depend upon the number of students in the course.  The aim is to provide students with a total experience of the Spanish language in a theatrical context.

Method of presentation: 

Readings, discussion, rehearsal and production of a play.

Required work and form of assessment: 

The mid-term consists of memorizing the selected play. Pronunciation and intonation will be evaluated as well as analyses of the characters.  The final exam is 50% for the dress rehearsal and 50% for the opening performance.  In addition, individual contribution to the numerous production tasks are also evaluated.

Note:  Each student should have a Walkman for daily practice in pronunciation and intonation.
