The objective of the Course is to make the participants familiar with first Economy of Morocco on one hand and the impact of the Globalization on its economy on the other hand. The focus will be put on four main topics/dimensions: 1) the relevant characteristics of Moroccan economy, 2) Morocco in its regional and international environment. 3) The impact of globalization and current crisis on Moroccan economy; 4) The main future challenges Moroccan economy will face.
Prerequisites:
An introductory course to international approaches.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, students have to be able to:
Understand main characteristics of Moroccan economy;
Discuss with arguments globalization impact on Moroccan economy;
Get a clear overview about Morocco’s relations with mainly European Union and U.S.A
Compare critically European policy and U.S. foreign policy towards Morocco.
Method of presentation:
Lectures, discussions and student presentations and field studies.
Required work and form of assessment:
Attendance and participation (15%); in-class midterm exam (30%), research paper 7 to 12 pages due by week 10 (20%), final exam (35%).

Brief Biography of Instructor:
Boutaina Ismaili Idrissi holds an MBA in Global business & marketing from the University of Central Lancashire (United Kingdom) and a PhD in economics from the University of Perpignan (France), covering various issues related to the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Dr. Ismaili Idrissi ensured a wide range of duties within the public sector, especially in the area of social economy, and has been active within national Moroccan NGO field through the Moroccan association for the promotion of small enterprise. She joined the National Agency for the promotion of SME where she was closed to SME issues, and conducted and participated to many projects of the agency mainly as a program coordinator of women entrepreneurship in cooperation with GIZ and as the project manager of “enterprise support” within the framework of the Millennium Challenge Account allotted by USA to Morocco.
Dr. Ismaili Idrissi has recently joined the Mohammed V University, Rabat, as a lecturer where she delivers various topics related to entrepreneurship, business management & economics. She published various articles and papers and participated at national and international conferences, some of which are:
