Castello Sforzesco

This sprawling and impressive castle, constructed in the 14th century, is now home to several museums and famous art collections. It has undergone numerous restorations since its first destruction in 1477 and rebuilding by Francesco Sforzesco in 1450.

"Il Castello Sforzesco is the main castle in the center of the city, just blocks away from the Duomo. I spent many days studying in the court yard or watching calcio (soccer) in the park behind it, and numerous hours wandering through the museum inside that holds Michelangelo’s last sculpture and a ceiling pained by Da Vinci. It is one of the places I miss the most." -Sharon B., Butler University
