Dr. William Louis Gaines Endowed Scholarship

Please note that if you are unable to attach documents to this application you may send any documents by mail, but it is recommended that you attach all materials to this application.  If necessary transcripts and professor recommendations can be emailed seperately to scholarships@iesabroad.org [1].

All attachments must be 1MB or less in file size and only the following file types are allowed:
Adobe Acrobat PDFs (.pdf)
Microsoft Word Documents (.doc)
Plain Text Files (.txt)

Any unrecognized file type or attachment exceeding the file size limit will result in an error causing all uploaded files to be aborted.

Required Materials
A professor should comment on your academic performance.
One complete college transcript is required. You may scan your transcript and submit it as a PDF as long as it is clear and legible. If you cannot scan your transcript and submit it digitally, send it by mail. Do not fax photocopies of transcripts. They will not be accepted.
Make sure to include the following in your Biographical Statement • Your full name • The school you currently attend and your major(s)/minor(s) • Your academic interests. Be as specific as possible and explain why you have taken an interest in a specific area(s) • Any internships/research projects in which you have participated • Your career goals • How this scholarship will help you achieve your academic, career and/or personal goals
Tell us about your academic interests and your reasons for studying abroad. Discuss any relevant work or extra-curricular experiences that may apply to your History or International Relations major and discuss the goals you hope to achieve while studying abroad.
