Program requirements:
- 18 Years of Age
- In good standing at your home school
- 3.0 GPA or Better on a 4.0 Scale
- Junior or Senior standing when program begins.
- Graduate students and continuing education students are encouraged to apply.
- Solid academic credentials relating to studies or experience in community work, business or the arts.
Required application materials:
- IES Abroad Application for Admission
- Authorization and Evaluation. Your on-campus study abroad advisor will instruct you on approval for this program
- Official Transcript. Submit one official transcript for each college/university you have attended since high school
- Internship Application
- Curriculum Vitae (résumé)* detailing relevant work or volunteer experience.
- Internship Statement* - Brief statement outlining your internship interests (including a first and second choice of internship area) as well as some general information about yourself - we recommend using the questions below as guidelines to writing your Statement:
- Who are you? (Where are you from? What school do you attend? What do you study?)
- Why would you like to intern in Melbourne?
- What kind of internship would you like?
- What skills/experience could you bring to an organization in Melbourne?
- What do you hope to achieve by interning in Melbourne?
- What do you hope to do in the future?
- If cumulative GPA is below 3.0, the following additional components are required:
- Professor Recommendation Form or Letter
- Personal Academic Essay. Although there is no length requirement the essay must address GPA, any particular academic challenges faced, and goals for studying abroad in your selected location.

Please note: IES Abroad cannot honor specific internship requests nor can it guarantee interviews or internships. Selections for interview and internship are based on a number of criteria including your ability to meet deadlines, your CV, and an on-site interview. Therefore, specific placements cannot be confirmed prior to arrival in Melbourne.
