Program requirements:
- 18 Years of Age
- In good standing at your home school
- Junior or Senior standing when program begins.
- 3.0 GPA or Better on a 4.0 Scale
- You must be a Musical Theater/Performance major.
Required application materials:
- IES Abroad Application for Admission
- Authorization and Evaluation. Your on-campus study abroad advisor will instruct you on approval for this program
- Official Transcript. Submit one official transcript for each college/university you have attended since high school
- IES Abroad London-Mountview Academy of Theater Arts Supplemental Application
- A show reel including two songs from the musical theater repertoire, one monologue from a play by William Shakespeare, one monologue from a play written after 1956, and a choreographed jazz dance piece lasting no less than 4 minutes.
- Please note: Your songs must not last longer than 2 minutes each and cannot be from the classical repertoire (this includes opera). Your monologues must not last longer than 2.5 minutes each, must involve a character chosen of your own gender and close to your own age, must be performed in your native accent (as much as possible), and must be from published plays (no extracts from poems, novels, films, or television scripts).
- Personal statement to support your application, including specific aspects of the courses that interest you, personal and academic related experience, your interests and skills, any languages you speak, any instruments you play, and performances you've taken part in.
- Letter of recommendation from your drama/theater department on school/departmental letterhead
- Two passport-sized (2" x 2") headshot photos of yourself
- If cumulative GPA is below 3.0, the following additional components are required:
- Professor Recommendation Form or Letter.
- Personal Academic Essay. The essay must address GPA, any particular academic challenges faced, and goals for studying abroad in your selected location.
