As difficult as it was, I’m home now.
I knew only one thing for certain when I decided to study abroad: I needed change.
Usually I’m very emotional on planes, but on December 23 I think I was simply too tired to be sentimental.
I’m back home for the holidays, and I’ve finally had the chance to reflect on my time abroad. Everything they say is true — it’s bittersweet being back at home.
As I lay in my bed writing this, a week after I have returned home, I am finally able to reflect on what it means to be back.
